"All Life is Yoga" - Sri Aurobindo

Introduction

Yoga, often misconstrued as a mere physical fitness regimen, is, in fact, a profound journey towards unity with the divine, the universe, and all forms of life, vibrations, frequencies, and energies that constitute our existence. This ancient practice encompasses a wide array of techniques to elevate consciousness and connect with higher states of being. In this blog post, I will share my transformative journey as a certified Transformational Yoga Instructor and Traditional Yoga Teacher, detailing the rich teachings I have absorbed and now share with my clients.

Transformational Yoga

A Multidimensional Approach: Transformational Yoga, born from the integral yoga teachings of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. This practice is designed to provide a fast track to multidimensional self-purification, making it accessible and transformative. It seamlessly blends elements of Hatha Yoga, White Tantra, Raja Yoga, Mantra Yoga, Ashtanga, and Kundalini Yoga.

One of the hallmarks of Transformational Yoga is its focus on the five bodies (Koshas) and seven chakras. Through asanas, chakras, mantras, pranayama, yoga nidra, and meditation techniques, I have gained profound insight into physical health, emotional balance, mental clarity, and spiritual well-being. Some of my practice and teachings revolve around this holistic approach, making it suitable for individuals of all ages and body types.

Traditional Yoga and the Himalayan Connection

My complementary journey into Traditional Yoga, as taught by the International Yoga Alliance (IYA), has deepened my understanding of the rich Himalayan traditions. These traditions have been the wellspring of healing teachings and knowledge for countless luminaries, from Swamy Vivekananda to Tirumalai Krishnamacharya. The IYA represents an authentic organization committed to preserving the purity of yoga.

In stark contrast to associations driven by financial motives, the IYA operates with a selfless spirit, promoting yoga as a sacred activity. It issues authentic certifications to schools, teachers, studios, and ashrams dedicated to practicing and teaching yoga in the right spirit. Guided by the profound wisdom of Dr. Kumar, a nuclear scientist with three PhDs in Chemistry and Yoga, my training has been grounded in the purity of authentic traditions.

The Rigorous Path of Traditional Yoga

My journey into Traditional Yoga has been demanding, requiring unwavering dedication and commitment. I have immersed myself in daily practices that span a wide spectrum of teachings. From detoxification and nutrition to zero resistance asanas, kriyas, mudras, pranayama, and more, the curriculum is comprehensive and holistic.

Traditional Yoga does not merely delve into the physical aspects of yoga but also explores its deep connections to physics, biology, history, medicine, and religion. It has equipped me with a unique understanding of yoga's pure science, which I now impart to my clients.

Conclusion

Yoga is indeed much more than a physical exercise routine; it is a transformative journey towards higher consciousness and unity with the universe. Through my practice and training in Transformational Yoga and Traditional Yoga, I have discovered the depth and breadth of these traditions and am dedicated to sharing the invaluable knowledge I've gained with my clients. Yoga, in its true essence, is a path to self-discovery and spiritual evolution, and I am privileged to be a guide for those who seek higher realms of consciousness.
